Scheduling maintenance plan running slow in background using tcode IP30

Hi PM Experts,

I want to know why scheduling maintenance plan using batch input in IP30 running slow when in background?

I check the variant, there's no issue with the variant. Just like this

Z2 : maintenance strategy with performance based.

FYI, my client had upgrade their system from EHP 3 to EHP 7, they had upgrade the server too so the performance should be ok after upgrade.

Is there any clue about this... Because it affect the performance of the system.

Hi Sonia,

Check out for counter based plans, whether any incorrect reading entered, which might be running and trying to create orders. I have faced this issues personally many times for one particular client.

This also can be checked by ABAPer, they dont need to stop the job, they can debug whether it was stuck or for any other reasons.

Get your ABAP/BASIS Team to run a trace on IP30 to see why the performance is so slow..

Also have a look on OSS searching for "ip30 performance" - there are quite a few notes.

What if I stop the background job while the background job is active? Is there any risk?

Just restart IP30 - it should be OK.
