Hi All,

We have copied BW DEV system and made the Test instance for Upgrade.

We have upgrade the test system BW 3.5 to 7.0 with unicode , but after upgrade we didn't found any java folder. I have to start the j2ee engine but i am unable to do becauase of this. In SMICM the J2ee engine status showing as false.

How to install j2ee engine now.....

Please suggest..

Thanks,

Subhash,

Please consider the following regarding the add-in scenario:

Using the Java add in will cause troubles with SSO between Abap and Java (same SID)

You wont be able to backup restore ABAP and Java separate (1 database with 2 schema's)

Stopping Java without stopping ABAP is possible but tricky.

After about 12 customer installs i only do standalone BI J2ee installs, JAVA own instance, own SID. Can run on the same server if enough memory is present. And yes this means a additional oracle instance is needed. However in all cases we had so much troubles with add in that i dont recommend and support it anymore. Also SAP advices standalone nowadays.

we had selected the Java- add in fro ABAP in SAPINST and completed the three steps.

Now java engine is working fine.
