Dear expert,

I applied the following tutorial

https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-64277 to setup a connection between analysis for office and HANA

I can logon, but blank screen appears forever

Is some of us already face this issue?

If you need more information, please let me know.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Fred - sorry for the delay in replying - could it be a firewall issue? Can other applications connect to SAP HANA?

Hi Tammy,

Thanks for your advices. Unfortunately, it is not firewall issue.

We did further checks, there is no firewall filtering on the port 8008 (80<instance_number>) in our landscape.

To be 100% sure, we installed AO 2.4SP4 on a remotedesktop on the same network as the HANA server. I face the same issue. A blank screen after the logon.

Excel, Lumira and analysis for OLAP can connect to HANA and get data.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Dear expert,

I went a bit further on this issue

Step 0: Install AO 2.4 SP4 on a remotedesktop without any firewall through HANA

Same Issue, authentication OK, blank screen

Step 1: Applied the following note:

  • SAP Note 2097965 - Additional setting for using the HANA Service Information Access
  • SAP 2207175 - 403 forbidden issue occur while logging on AOclient 2.0 with local SAP HANA connection
  • SAP Note 2315536 - HANA InA role

Step 2: Try with the MY_USER and the SYSTEM user

Step 3: Check the INA service

The answer from HANA looks OK

<html><head></head><body><pre style="word-wrap: break-word; white-space: pre-wrap;">{"ServerInfo":{"BuildTime":"2016-06-21 01:54:21","Client":
  • http://<server>:8008/sap/bc/ina/service/v2/GetResponse?Request={%22Metadata%22:{%22Expand%22:[%22Cubes%22]}}

The answer from HANA looks OK too

<html><head></head><body><pre style="word-wrap: break-word; white-space: pre-wrap;">{"Cubes":[{"Annotations":"","CatalogPackage":"sap.hana.security.base.persistence","CatalogSchema":"_SYS_BIC","CatalogType":"CALC","CatalogView":"AuditPoliciesExpanded","CreatedBy":"","CreatedOn":"2016-11

Result => Not Found

Step 4: Trace the network between AO 2.4SP4 and HANA Answer from HANA => Not Found

Wireshark trace:

Do you have any idea to fix this connection issue?

Many thanks in advance

Kind regards
