SUBCONTRACTING IN OPERATION

hi friends,

i have a senario where i am using 27 operations in routing for the finished product .where i have a option to go for subcontract (incase of bottleneck)

or go for inhouse production ,in each operation.we are following MTS scenario.then please suggest how can configure routing.?

Omkar,

Since the number of operations are high i would suggest you to breakdown this flow into manageble semifinished products.

Create 2 routing for the materail where ever both options are possible one for Inhouse production and another for external processing, create production versions with respect to this. In the material master make production version mandatory(MRP4 view)

In the ordertype dependent parameters, define selection of production version as manual. With this when you convert the planned order to production order you can decide whether inhouse mfg or external processing.
