MM Period Opeing

we already closed the period of fiscal year 2006, now we want to reopen 5the period of fiscal year 2006.

Please guide

Hi,

If you want to allow posting to previous period then better you allow it through t code MMRV other wise if you want to re open the period then use the tcode MMPI but in case of MMPI all your posting that has been done in the 6th period will be zero & cause of inconsistency in the system. So take the decision carefully.

And before opening the closed period read the OSS Note#487381.This note describes the possible data inconsistencies that might occur if you carry out the initialization in a productive system.Follow the steps desribed below .

1. Lock all users out of production client

2. Save MB5L for all materials at company code for current and previous periods

3. Add User parameter MMPI_READ_NOTE with value = current date in this format YYYYMMDD

4. Stop all processing that updates inventory values

5. Run t-code MMPI with correct period .
