Automatic Refresh of new columns in a dataset - Lumira

Hello Experts,

In Lumira, while refreshing a dataset, do the new columns added also get refreshed?

I connected Lumira to Hana Datasource to expose my calculation view. After visualization, I added new columns to my HANA view. When I refreshed my lumira, I could not see those new columns added.

Is there a way to resolve this? Or does Lumira has this limitation?

    Hi Shiny

In the Lumira Desktop, Lumira should prompt with a field mapping dialog when you refresh the document. In BI Platform, there is not field mapping so you may get an error or never actually see the new columns.

    • Hi Ludek,

Thanks for the response :) Agreed.

The field mapping prompts up for changes to any field names that are already imported to Lumira desktop. However, for adding any new column, there isn't any prompt that comes.

      For instance,

      Scenario 1:

Say I have a hana table "User Details" with fields

      • ID
      • User_Name
      • Address

If I change the field name from "ID" to "User_ID", then I get a prompt to map my fields.

      Scenario 2:

However, to the table "User Details", now I add a new column "Contact_Number". Now my table looks with 4 fields as

      • ID
      • User_Name
      • Address
      • Contact_Number

So in this case, I don't get any prompt to map my new column to the dataset already added in lumira.

So I have to delete all my work and re-do things.

How may I get my new column into my existing dataset?
