You can use quaggaJS library (https://serratus.github.io/quaggaJS/) or use the device with an integrated code scanner. In one of our projects for a retail company, we have developed UI5 apps that are using Honeywell ScanPal EDA50. You can see video with working solution on https://www.instagram.com/p/BTwnlhpBPuU/ 🙂
