set up controlling area

Hello,

I have been trying to set up the controlling area using t.code EC16. When I try to copy I get an error that the "Objects were not selected as a connected list".

Can someone explain or tell me as to how I should go around configuring the controlling side using this t.code.

I copied the company code using t.code EC01 and then went on the copy the chart of accounts using t.code OBY7.

I really do not know how to select the objects as a connected list. I am very new to SAP.
