Hello,

We are currently using Agentry for work order management in Maximo. I am adding attached document functionality to work orders on the handheld. Uploading documents from the handheld to Agentry and the Maximo servers works find and downloading attachment data from the Maximo database also works.

We do not want to store the attachments on the handheld, just display a url link to the attachment on the Maximo server. So I am trying to display a http link to an attached document that is stored on the Maximo remote server. The user should be able to click the link and have a browser open on the handheld that displays the attachment in the browser window. I have been able to create an HTML field on the screen which displays the document correctly. But when I try to display a html link in the same field via a rule it doesn't work.

I have a rule in place for a different HTML field that displays a link ("Attachment") which shows the correct url when I hover over it (displays "about:serverurl/wotrack/attachment.txt"). But when I click the link it just displays the actual url in the field.

The following link was helpful to get to this point but I can't seem to get any further:

I tried to add a windows command action to launch a start and the url but this doesn't seem to work either.

Has anyone else been able to accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,

Since you are trying to display the HTML link as a string. Did you try using a string field instead of a HTML field?

Thanks,

Chung

Peter,

Are you trying to use the Agentry client HTML control to view the document or launch the browser on the PC to the specified URL?
