statement problem in script

Hi Friends ,

I am having a problem with this statment

IF &EXCEED_COUNT& EQ 45 OR &EXCEED_COUNT& GT 32

new-page

endif

insted of EXCEED_COUNT being 4 or 5 or less than 32, the cursor is going inside the statement .

can anybody help me in this case. this statement is inside the main window
