Business partner issue

When we currently create a business partner using transaction code BP in our testing client, with a ‘Create in BP Role’ as say a customer, we currently receive two different numbers for BP and customer, ideally we should have the same number assignment.

Can someone please explain how we can address this?

If you want the customer with the same number as BP for BP->Customer synchronization, you would need to assign the same number range for the BP grouping and the customer account group.

The mapping for BP grouping and customer account grouping is done in view V_TBD001 and you should check the "same number" flag. Also, the customer number range should be set as "external".
