We use MICN Cycle Counting through IM only (WM not activated). CC intervals are standard SAP A, B, C and D. CC Indicator on materials set as D and fixed. After last counted and adjusted date of 06/30/2017 we changed the count date on materials to regroup materials by bin locations and to have a more balanced number of items to count. We have a customized Z Tcode to change last count date.
MICN returns message 'No materials found for physical inventory' on the Materials counted on 06/30 even though MARD-DLINL indicates last count date as the current date. Verified that there are no active inventory documents.
Example material 1049723 counted and adjusted on 06/30; changed last count date to 08/17/2017; verified CC Ind on Mat Master = D; MARD-DLINL indicated last count date of 08/17/2017. Execute MICN with Planned count date 08/17/2017 system responds with
'No materials found for physical inventory'.
Any suggestions on why MICN is not proposing the materials will be greatly appreciated.

Patsy Joseph
Jurgen - my apologies for the confusion - I fat fingered the date. The last count date updated was 08/16/2016.

sorry but this sounds like pure nonsense.
Why do you set the last count date to today?
The calculation of the inventory due date is just "Last count date" + "days from CC customizing"
If the last count date is today, then it is logical that you can't get a new count for today.
You wrote all materials have a D indicator, which means they will be counted just once per year.
wouldn't it make sense to change the last count date to last year then, e.g. 08/17/2016 ?
