Brad,

Once I did a whole upgrade from Portal 6 WAS 6.20 to WAS 6.40 and everything works.

Now I am doing again. I could do the Migration of KM, but when I start the Migration of Portal I got the error Path component contains reserved character ('"'): "E:

Looking searched foruns before open this, then I tried to reinstall the JDK 1.4.2_12,

I've looked in the system parameters Path if there was '"'. But it doesn't work.

Could you help me?

Thank you in advance,

The solution was alter on Register:

MyComputer\Hkey_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SAP<sid>

ImagePath

I just removed the " on the path.

Hi Nivia,

I am not sure if I understand your problem well.

You did the migration of KM EP6 SP2 to the EP6 NW04 (was 6.40).

The migrated portal start ok, with migrated documents.

Now, you are trying to import pcd from EP6 SP2 to EP6 NW04, and got this error?

Maybe you got some invisible caracters in your profile file. Sometimes when you edit with word you can get this problem. Use something like notepad++ to verify.

You may restore the file from a backup to test.

Hi Brad,

Now I am sure my English is horrible!

No, I tried to say that I installed the Portal 6 NW04 with path 20.

I did the migration of KM without problems.

Doing the migration of Portal I got the error.

The path of executable in the properties of service is:

"E:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\exe\run\sapstartsrv.exe" pf="E:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\profile\START_SCS04_calsaplb02"

In the log a sent, you could see that The Migration process take this properties to take the profile.

The problem is the ".

Could you understand?

Hi Nivia,

my english is not better, as I use french.

Anyway, I saw that there is no migration tools for NW04 SP20, only SP19.

Did you update the NW04 target portal from SP19 to SP20?

Hi Brad,

Yes, I updated the NW04 target portal from SP19 to SP20.

I did the same process in another machine without problem. Besides, I compared these machines and the diference are on service (SAPJ2E_04) properties. That machine doesn't have " on the path. I don't know why. I think it is some configuration of Operational System.

I just alter this service through REGEDIT and tried again it seems it works. But I still would like to know where is the configuration that put this character.

Do you think it could be because of path?

Tk you very much,

Nivia

Hi Nivia,

It could be because of the path. Some characters and words are reserved for special purposes, like in JAVA and ABAP.

I hope the "solution" you found will be ok.

Give us some news of your results.

If you upgrade later to EP7, don't forget you'll need to go to SP12 (NW04 SP20 = 2004s SP12).

Brad,

It really worked!

The solution was alter on Register:

MyComputer\Hkey_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SAP<sid>

ImagePath

I just removed the " on the path.

Thank you very much for you usuall attention.
