Setting references to proxy through Adapter Module

Hi

Can anyone tell me the procedure for setting references to the web service deployable proxy through Adapter Module.

I need a brief idea on the following:

1) basic steps to be performed in NWDS for setting references to the same.

2) what all changes have to be made in j2ee-engine.xml
