Hi Experts,
we need to load our installed base data to C4C/C4S using the following cloud objects
(lvl1) Installed base
(lvl 2) Installation point (functional location)
(lvl 3) Installation point (registered products)
for various reasons we cannot use IDOC's and load through PI.
So we want to use web services (WSDL) - a technique that we know works for other objects like customers and data sources.
But the problem we have now is that the WSDL available doesn't really seem to work properly. We found two different sets of services - I'll try to explain
First set (Installed Base Replication from External System)
1.a Installed Base Replication
1.b Installation Point Replication
The above have "Documentation" for the WSDL in the C4C/C4S system, and they work if you call them from SOAP UI. But they do not give any reply/response back from the C4C/C4S system. So we do not know if the upload is a success or not. Also nothing is shown in the Web Service Message Monitor in C4C/C4S.
The second problem is that they seem to be asynchronous, and therefore it seems that they cannot be called directly from our ERP system (via soamanager)
Second set (Registered Product and Installation Point Replication from SAP Business Suite)
2.a Replicate Registered Products from SAP Business Suite
2.b Replicate Installation Point from SAP Business Suite
The problem with the above is that there is no service for the 'Installed base' - so we could not install an Installation point to an Installed base (and in some cases we also need to install a registered product directly to an installed base). Second problem is that there is no documentation for these services in C4C/C4S. You normally find the documentation under the 'Communication arrangement' per WSDL.
In short : How can we load Installed base & Installation Points to C4C/C4S with web services. It has to be directly from our ERP - No PI no HCI.
Thank you 🙂

Hi Jesper,
I am curious how you decided to tackle this.
Didn't you consider to use the C4C migration templates for installed base and installation points, to do the (initial) load?
