Hi,

Instead of creating document number series, create header level UDF to capture revised document.

Creating document series created additional maintenance ( yearly you have to setup document numbering) and setup to control.

Thanks for the reply.

Instead of creating document number series, create header level UDF to capture revised document

You mean, i should keep the document numbering as it is and create two user defined field to specify document number & revision number.

for ex. [DocSeries] [DocNum] [Revised Document] [Revision Number].

[AR17SQ] [1] [1] [0], [AR17SQ] [2] [1] [A], [AR17SQ] [3] [1] [C],...................

I think, this becomes more complicated to maintain.

Creating document series created additional maintenance ( yearly you have to setup document numbering) and setup to control.

I already have the document series because customer needed the document numbering start from '1' for every year for atleast sales transactions. Please guide to create the above sequence (as asked in main question) and guidelines to have the control and maintenance.
