Dear All,

How would it be possible to create a custom template on Lumira Designer 2.0 SP2 ?

There's no more the possibility to export an application - therefore no more the possiblity to import it on the template folder.

Thanks for your feedback.

Regards.

Hi David,

That's an interesting observation. According to the official Lumira 2.0 help documentation, there is still supposed to be an "Application > Export as Template" option but like you, I have not been able to find it, although curiously the Preferences dialog under Tools allows you to specify user-defined Template Categories and Folders. I wonder if this has been an omission in the current version of Lumira 2.0?

Regards,

Mustafa.

Hi,

the export of apps is not supported in the new Lumira Documents Mode (and will never be), because ripping out an application from a document is not possible in many cases since it might use MIMEs, composites or offline data sources from its containing document. You have to switch to one of the legacy modes (local mode or BIP mode) to create your template.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the clarification. By way of feedback, I think this limits the usefulness of templates in Lumira Documents mode due to the the inability to include composites. In Lumira Designer 2.0, I expect a very common customer requirement for application templates would be to include reusable, centrally maintained parts such as standardised headers and footers, which are ideal candidates for composites. So in this scenario, it seems that instead of using the formal template functionality as per legacy mode, a workaround of creating Lumira Designer applications as "templates" would need to be implemented whereby the standard "Save As" function would be used to create a new Lumira Document based on such "templates".

Regards,

Mustafa.

Export as template is available only when you work with local documents right?
