extra check in cats approval ?

In our company we use CATS with 2 different scenarios

an internal projectmanager may approve hours from employees working on his projects (determined by the serviceorder)

an external projectmanager may NOT approve hours from employees working on his projects (determined by the serviceorder) but has to verify that the hours are correct for approval by the chief of projectmanagment.

few sollutions:

1)

in the profile it is possible to declare with status the hours of the employee gets.

so it can be status 10 or 20. now I need to find a way that the cats status is made depended from the serviceorder and the responsible person for that order ???

2)

make a extra XFELD field in the catsdb additional structure and fill that when the external projectmanager verifies the correctnes of the hours

we already have a z programm instead of cats_appr_lite for approving hours so to make an addition on that would be possible.

it seems for me that workflow is out of the question since the approval always goes in batches and not in seperate verifications (since only a few are in need of correction it's quite pointles to send 100 emails for 100 registered cats lines)

or are there also possibilities in workflow to work in batches but also have the possibilty to decline a few rows ?

are there perhaps other options to implement this scenario ??

kind regards

arthur

cleaning up old questions, still amazed that I have to mark them as answered since there came no proper answer at all.

Whatever i understood from your query..i think it can be achieved with what is called "<b>Double Verificatin in HR Security"</b> Discuss with your Basis administrator or whoever is incharge of Authorisations etc.

More info on Double Verificatin can be found in below link..

hope it helps..
