Yes, you can use 1 depreciation key for all your assets but generally that depends on your business process and what your calculation/depreciation method is for your books and tax registers.

You can default that particular key in t-code OAYZ and select the asset class you want to default it for. Once you do this, all your assets will be created with this particular depreciation key.

Client has given 6 types of percentages. So I have created 6 depreciation keys as well as tax dep keys as below.

Can I use these dep keys

      Z200 OFFICE/GODOWN BUILDING - DEPRECIATION - 1.63%

      Z300 FACTORY BUILDING- DEPRECIATION - 3.34%

      Z400 PLANT & MACHINERY - DEPRECIATION - 5.28%

      Z500 COMPUTERS - DEPRECIATION -16.21%

      Z600 FURNITURE & FIXTURE - DEPRECIATION -6.33%

      Z700 VEHICLES - DEPRECIATION -9.50%

    Hi,

Depreciation are stated to specify the calculation.

Based on business requirements(SLM/WDV) and % you create depreciation keys.

This independent of asset class and obvoius asset too.

And so you can use the same key muliple times in different assets and also in different asset class.

Further 2 asset belonging to same class can have different depreciation keys.

    Hope I made it clear.

Please assign point if found useful

    Thanks and regards,

    Atul

      hi venkata,

If your percentage are fixed like you have mentioned in your post than i think you got it almost correct. My suggestion would be to use '999' value under "Year" field instead of 100. Hope this helps and please revert back if you have any questions.
