On Creating a segment in the IDOC it says "Activate Segment in dictionary failed"

When i was about to create a segment in the WE31, On giving name, later on i have added the fields. Next when i was about to save it says like
"Activate Segment <Segment name > in dictionary failed".

Message Class: EA
Message Number: 240.

Hello,

I have also encountered this error while creating segment by WE31. You will have to check the fields in the segment if they have the correct field name ( No spaces/unacceptable special characters in the name ) and data elements.
