CFM Migration

We want to make an upgrade from TR-TM in 4.6 to CFM in the same version. In the migration guide, it appears as Conversion Type 1, but it says its obsolete. Is it obsolete because the programs don't run anymore or is it obsolete because CFM is no longer available in the new versions of SAP ERP?

Is there additional advice we have to know?
