new comers to xi

hi, i am the fresher and just taking training on sap , i have learnt ABAP reporting .

so, is it advisible to move towards to XI ? i also have seen architecture and simple application ofXI.

Hi

SAP-XI is a middleware.It is an Integration platform and Technology just like any other EAI(Enterprise Application Integration).For example TIBCO is a competitor for XI.

But you can learn XI if you have knowledge of SAP ABAP.

In fact a knowledge of both Java and ABAP is required for SAP-XI.

You can really go for learning XI since you are saying you are aquainted with ABAP.

Hello Komik,

you are fresher in programming .So first concentrate on ABAP ,do some Reports then go for BAPI,ALE,IDOC in order ,then start XI. Here our friends have given these links ,they are useful for those having some hands on exp. in ABAP or Java,With out these you will get frustration if you directly enter into XI.Relax ,dont do things in hurry.</i>

thanks for giving a nice suggestion about first do reporting but i have learnt reporting using function module and having basic idea abut this smartforms and RFC,IDOC,SOAP.

Thanks for giving me documents on all adapters but i want the details about idocs with example which includes :

1 starting from how to configure idocs at sender and receiver side.

2.detail configuration about idocs with all transaction starting from we30 and ne live example if possible (how to create and attach and all that things).
