Dear Gurus,

In SAP Help the procedure of Assigning Phases to Different Operations is as given Below:

Assigning Phases to Different Operations

On the operation overview, select the phase that you want to assign to a different operation.

Choose .

A dialog box appears. It contains the number of the operation to which the phase is currently assigned.

Enter the number of the operation to which you want to assign the phase and choose .

The phase is assigned to the new operation."

The question is:

Does it mean, a single phase can be assigned to two/multiple different opertions?

Thanks in advance.

Ajit.

HI,

The SAP standard PI recoomend that the phases are assigned to operation .

In one operation there are one or more phases are performed in secondary resources as operation itself is perforemd in primary resource.

Eg

In manufacturing of chemical there rae two operation

1. Formulation

2. Packing

In formulation oiperation there are 2 phases

1. Phase - Charging the chemical as per receipe -

2. Phase- Circulation the charged solution in another tank and transfer the same.

Thse two phase are come under the operation formualtion.

The next operation id packing

In this operation again one or more phase are coem .

So the basic is

1.First operation

2, phases

it depends on the existing manufacturing ptocess of client.

Hopes it will clear to tou.

Hi Ajit,

Phase can be assigned to only one operation.

If you want to change the assignment then you need to use the option assigning phases to differenet operation

Is it mean that the previous assignment which the phase already has is being deleted and it creates new assignment.

Secondly,The requirement is: I have created one phase which can be used in multiple operations. So, I just want to check if this assignment function helps me in reducing my laborious job.

Thanks

Dear Rajesh,

Business requirement is Simple.

There are multiple operations to be carried out on a resource i.e. reactor.

But after completion of first Operation & Phase, there is a operation of cleaning the reactor. This Cleaning activity needs to be performed several times.

So, If this phase can be assigned or copied to different operations. Ultimately, it reduces the task of creating this phase numerously.

I hope, the business requirement is clear now.

Best Regards,

Ajit.
