Hi all,

is there a smart way to activate a new navigational attribute?

I have a planning objectstructure active with a lot of data in timeseries.

What is the best approach to activate or deactivate a navigational attribute?

thanks in advance

Jean

Hello Jean -

The Navigational Attributes come attached to the characteristics that you choose. To add the characteristics you have to deinitialize the planning object structure. so before you deinitialize the planning object structure you need to take a back up of the data associated with the same. after that initialize the planning object structure. there is no other way as far as my knowledge goes.

Hopes this is of help.

Hello Suresh/ALL

I have a little bit similar scenario where the Planning Object Structure is active and there is already a Custom Characteristic (ZLOC) created with lot of data in it. There are already 3 navigational attributes attached to this characteristic (ZLOC). I would like to add 2 new (ZMOD and ZPROD) Navigational attributes to ZLOC. Both ZMOD and ZPROD are existing infoobjects

1. ZPROD does not have any master data

2. ZMOD does have master data

As I understand you can add Nav Attribute to ZLOC. But my question is do we have to do any thing to Planning Object Structure ?

Secondly if we add new nav attribute in RSA1 in BW how will it flow to APO DP ?

Please help since I am new.

Thank you very much.

Hi Suresh Garg,

A collegue told me that it is not necessary to de-initialize a planning object structure. If you add the navigational attributes to the info-objects, activate them, and then just initialize the planning object structure (so without de-initialization), you can use the navigational attributes, (of course after you have added them to the planning book.)

Hope this will help you and others

kind regards

Jean
