Hi All,
i replaced branding Image in folder layout. There is two branding images
1. branding-image.jpg
2. branding-image-portals.jpg
i replaced images with the same name. I restarted J2EE Engine.
after i typed url in browser to see the image change here i used two urls
1. http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal for this URL there is no change in image still i am seeing the old image
2. http://<host>:<port>/sld i am seeing logon page with changed image.
but why i am unable to see the change in the first URL. but my requirement is to change the branding image for the first URL.
How resolve this problem?
Thanks and Regards,
Phanikumar
Hi Phanikumar,
Did you resolve your issue?
I have the exact same problem. URL .../sld shows het correct branding image but ..../irj/portal doesn't show these images.
Any advise on your solution would be highly appreciated.

u can create ur logon screen by methord also
First Download the default logon par file from ur portal for that u can
Navigate to System Administration->Support->Portal
Runtime ->Browse deployment->download ->com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
download that par file.
then open NWDS tool kit and import that (Downloded)par file
then
Add the following 2 JAR files to the lib folder present under the PORTAL-INF\private:
1.com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar
2.umelogonbase.jar
And add the images what ever u need ,add it to PORTAL-INF/images/
the changes need to do in the following file
umLogonArea.txt
in that <b>img src="<%=webpath%>\images\urimagefile.jpg"</b> alt="" border="0">
then deploy that project by different par name[not default par name].
now u can view urlogonpage [just display]
u need to implement this to ur server do the follow ing steps
1. for j2e engine configtool:
C:/usr/sap/j2e/JCOO/j2ee/configtool/configtool.bat
2. Click the Editor Mode icon in the tool bar.
3. Inside this configuration tree, go to following path,
Cluster_ data >Server>Persistent>com.sap.security.core.ume.service > authschemes.xml (original xml file)
4. In the Tree, select the authschemes.xml and choose download and save the file to your local directory
When you edit the file, you should download the file to a local directory, edit it, and when uploading the edited file create a new node in the configuration tree for it. In this way you do not lose the original version of the file.
(Right click authscheme. xml file and select show details (fig. a), you will get one dialog box for downloading (fig. b), save it in another name (fig. c))
5. Edit the local file:
To select the new PAR file as the Logon Page change the occurrence of all substrings com.sap.portal.runtime.logon to your project /PAR file name. All com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
Should be substituted with something like com.company.portal.runtime.logon (or whatever your project name is).Dont remove the part behind it.
(These are the profiles in the portalapp.xml and have that names default, certlogon, basic authentication, header and anonymous)
6. Then you have to Export that required file,
For this,
1) Follow 1 & 2 steps
2) Navigate till com.sap.security.core.ume.service
3) Right click on com.sap.security.core.ume.service then Export
7. In the configtool.bat, go to,
Global Server Configuration > Services > com.sap.security.core.ume.service and edit the property login.authschemes.definition.file.
(--Have to change the custom value, which we have required.
For this,
1) Click login.authschemes.definition.file
2) Bottom of the window you can find one input field for value
3) Here you have to give the modified xml file--)
After this only the New Node appears in the configuration tree
8. Then Restart the Server,
[Go through this path,
Sap Management Tool (in the desktop) > SAP Systems > J2E]
now u can atchive ur aim... all the best

Hi Phani,
First solution is to delete the history from the browser as others suggested.
Did you replace the old branding image on server side or only from NWDS.
Sometimes the images doesn't get replaced on server.
If you have access to the server try to replace the images from there.

Hi,
Try changing your image from this different way,
Go to system admin--> system config > UM Configuration (Present in detailed navigation)> click on direct editing tab, find this property ume.logon.branding_image=/logon/layout/<GIVE YOUR IMAGE NAME>
OR
ume.logon.branding_image=<SPECIFY NEW IMAGE PATH>
Now try..

Hi Munna,
This is the Place i have changed the images
\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.security.core.admin\servlet_jsp\logon\root\layout
After this i have changed par file and i deployed and changed all required setting in config tool then i restarted j2ee engine and portal. after restarting when i type URL i am getting error the error is below
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
The exception was logged. Inform your system administrator..
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
How to rectify this
regards,
Phanikumar.
Hi Phani,
Unzip the par file and under Portal-Inf/lib folder you find two jar files umelogonbase.jar and com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar.Copy and manually paste these jar files in dist/portal-inf/lib of the project in NWDS ,then rebulid and deploy the par to the server.
This should solve your problem.
Regards
Akshaya
