Rename Functional Location Label

Hi!

I want to rename the functional location label for some reasons.

For example, from HL7596-78-31 to HL7596-78-AA.

But I don't know exactly how this affects to other object like Orders, Notifications, Maintenance plan and etc which is made with old functional location.

1. Can I select orders and others with old funtional location in transaction code IW38, IW58, IP17 and etc?

2. Orders and others which is made with old functiois still ok?

I mean, this order or maintenance plan is still working correctly?

3. Old functional location of orders and others is changed with renamed functional location automatically?

3. Can I see the history of old functional location?

4. Any table relation is changed?

you can rename the functional location label ,but after you rename the system saves the last label as histroicl lable which cannot be reused.

Renaming Functional Locations

Use

Functional location labels can be changed. The system saves all previously used labels as historical labels. To avoid confusion, you cannot reuse a historical label.

However, if you need to use the historical label you must explicitly release it for reuse.

Prerequisites

Activate the function Alternative Labeling of Functional Locations in Customizing for Plant Maintenance (PM) under Functional Locations.

Procedure

Choose Logistics ® Plant maintenance ® Technical objects and then FunctLocation ® Change.

Enter the functional location label and choose Continue.

Choose Extras ® Label ® Overview. You go to the labeling history for the functional location.

Select the label you require and choose Rename.

Enter the new label in the dialog box Functional Location: Rename and choose Continue.

In the dialog box for the labeling history the new label is displayed as the active version and the old label as the historical version.

Choose Continue and save the changes made to the master record.

HI, I have did the same to change the label of function location and label also changed as per my requirements, but after that i had again disable the alternative label the changed Function location label showing different lable.
