Hy SAP SCM gurus,
A very good day to all.
How to change the percentage variance is calculated in the alert monitor report.
We are using the formula in - Target-Actual/Target in absolute value.
Now we want to change the formula Is it possible? If possible could you please explain us how to change the formula?
Actually we are using - ABS ((Act. Val. - Targ. Val.) / Targ. Val. * 100)
We would like to calculate this value following another formula:
% = ABS( 1 + ( Act. Val. - Targ. Val. ) )/ Targ. Val. * 100
How could we define the new formula for the alert? Please help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance
Warm Regards
S Arun Prasath
Arun, you should be able to define this formula using Alert Macros. Custom alerts can be set up by defining alert types in config. IN the macro ensure that the denominator is checked for being non-zero, else it may trip the logic. You should be able to get samples of the alert macros in the standard planning books eg. some of the SNP standard planning books.

Hi,
I don't know if you still need an answer but anyway....
What I would do is create a new alert type, then calculate and generate the alert with a new macro, and display it in the alert monitor, instead of the previously existing standard alert...
To me it's the simpliest way to have a customized alert calculation.
Please let me know if that helped you.
