is it good to have more key fields in DSO

Hey Guys ,

is it good to have more key filds in dso , and how will it impact the performance of Loading/Access.

    Hi,

    loading will be slower, but the most important thing is, your data will be stored on a much more granular level.

    The objective of using key fields is to recognize each data record uniquely. So, if we can achieve this by small number of key fields we should go for that.

    Technically if we use many key fields that will create data redundancy. Besiseds that primary index will be bigger.

    Also we cannot use more than 16 key fields.

    Basically there is a trade off between performence and loading...it totally depends on the scenario....as you have more Key field you will have faster data retrieval capability...hence better query performence...

    same time having a lot of field in key will slow down data load performence as for distinguish the data record and loading into DSO it has to compare a large key....
