Hi,
I was using transaction QE01, I encounter an error message when an error message "value can't be interp. as floating-point number or longer than 22 charac.
I was wondering what would it mean. Hope you can help me with this. Thanks.
Please check the decimal placesyou`ve assigned for that characteristic under Quantitative data. That could be the reason.

it is Due To user Setting,
It is due to decimal point, Or.
Try transaction su01,go to change the user ,in Defaut tab Choose the Decimal Notation as per company requirement use decimal point , or . while enter the result data as per your user settimg

what would it that be? What would be my steps to know what is the item that was not confirming to normal sap field?

One of the field value is not confirming to normal SAP field....just check in QA02
