Trex search results giving No document excerpts below each results

Hi,

We have indexed KM repository(DB mode) containing lots of pdfs,xls,ppt and MS word documents. All were working fine. TREX search was giving the results and we were able to open it.

But today we are facing a strange problem. Most of word documents in the search results are showing "No Document Excerpt available". When we try to open the document from search results, its showing blank screen(opening a xml file) Not sure why? Index monitoring is showing the index to be fine. Other files like pdfs, xls are fine in the search results.

We are using NW04s EP7.0 and TREX Version: 7.00.32.00 Build: 700.32.113984

Any clue on this??

Hi Siva,

Is it possible that the MS Word files have been touched / saved now with MS Office 2007?!

In that case, there are different issues described in SAP notes 1062725 and 1077464.

Indexes might be corrupt.Where you running a antivirus parallel to the indexes.

We are using MS office 2000 and all were fine until yesterday.

All the documents were already indexed and no antivirus is running parallely.

Anyway i ll try reindexing and see if the problem goes off...

Hi Siva,

if everything was working fine before I would assume that some change was done to your portal on the day when it stopped working. Maybe you could investigate what changed have been done in that timeframe. That might give a hint as to where the problem is coming from.

Other than that I'd also suggest to reindex and see if that helps.
