Dear sirs, we are using the New Concept of Authorizations in BI7 and we cannot see how to model authorizations when you have several hierarchies for the same InfoObject (0COSTCENTER).
For example:
- you can fill authorizations with nodes of a main hierarchy. Let´s say
you are granted to Cost Centers A,B,C under node NODE-A of hierarchy HIER-A.
- you have an alternative hierarchy, HIER-B in which you have organize the same Cost Centers as for HIER-A in different nodes. For example, youhave a node NODE-B which has Cost Centers A,D, NODE-C which contains Cost Centers C,E,F and NODE-D which contains Cost Centers B,G.
- A user is only granted to Cost Centers A,B,C, so in the authorization we can assign auth to HIER-A/NODE-A, but.. what about alternative hierarchy HIER-B?? We cannot fill hierarchy - nodes auth values, so that he can work with HIER-B but accesing only information of CosCenters A,B,C.
- As a result, the user can only use hierarchy HIER-A.
Any ideas?
Thaks in advance and regards,
Julio.
Hi Julio,
why do you want to use hierarchy authorization at all. Is value authorization on A, B, C not sufficient for your scenario.
I do not see another option.
Cheers

Hello Andreas,
the problem is that our queries displays 0COSTCENTER as hierarchy (this is the InfoObject in which we have the problem) and as 0COSTCENTER is hierarchy - managed and authorization-relevant, the system automatically requires authorization for the hierarchies you use to display your queries.
Maybe, if I find somethig to make the system only check authorization for values and not for hierarchies, although the InfoObject is hierarchy-managed, the problem will be solved.
Regards,
Julio.
