DUMP: ME_UPDATE_DOCUMENT with POEXT

Hello.

I have a doubt with SAP note:

  • "2008784 - SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC in table POEXT when saving the PO"

This note has a step by step, and one of this steps has a "Z" file named: Z_DELETE_EMPTYEBELN_FROM_POEXT

The note clarifies:

AS THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL CORRECTION REPORT, USE IT ONLY FOR YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY.

My doubt. How it's that possible?

If the note from SAP has the "Z" file, is not official?

Why did it say that?

If I need to run the program to delete the empty data from the table, is there any consequence of using the program that the note recommends?

It makes me doubt that warning, I thought that the SAP notes had programs endorsed by SAP.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

    Hi,

This report is simple and having no impact on other tables. It is not expected to get POEXT table updated with empty EBELN,if due to any misleading process/action this scenario occurs, then it should be used. also to prevent the same in future, another note is referred. Finally, this is common SAP verbiage/statutory warning type whenever, they produce similar customer

    problem specific note
with Z-report. we have faced similar issue regarding many cases, recently after upgrade to EHP8.

    REPORT Z_DELETE_EMPTYEBELN_FROM_POEXT.
PARAMETERS: test_run type xfeld DEFAULT 'X'.
    DATA ccount TYPE i.
    IF test_run IS INITIAL.
DELETE FROM POEXT WHERE EBELN = ' '.
WRITE: 'Number of deleted lines: ', sy-dbcnt.
    ELSE.
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM POEXT INTO ccount WHERE EBELN = ' '.
WRITE: 'This is a test run, in update mode the number of deleted lines would be: ', ccount.
    ENDIF.
