multiple(same type) idocs to files

Hi,

I have a scenario wherein , for every 1 hour period all the idocs generated for a delivery creation in R3 are to be collected and posted to XI. XI would then write 2 'TXT' files one for all the header details and the other with all item details to the same receiver. we expect about 100-150 idocs each hour.

what would be the best approach with or w/o BPM. Appreciate if you coudl let me know the steps involved. much of the scenarios i read in forum either talk about file2idoc or multiple type idocs to file.

    Hey

you can do this without BPM

since you are just collecting the IDOC's of same type

    Thanx

Hi if you send that many idocs one idoc/one meessage at a time the performace of scenaio will be effected.

so it is better to collect all the idocs in to xml file using xml port type, and then

sending it as xml file to the receiver. will be the good option.

    Hi,

With BPM there could be performance issue associated. As suggested by AMIR you can collect the IDOCS in a file then use a file to file scenario. You can set the poll interval to a 1 hr in the file adapter. There will be issue if the file size is large but can be overcome easily.

If you consider using BPM then you can BPM COLLECT scenario where all the idoc will be collected in the bpm and them transferred to the target. The load on XI will be more in this case.

Have you consider option of exploring PROXY ?
