running 2 LiveCache instances on one Box

Hi all,

does anyone know technical details if it should be possible to run 2 independant LiveCache instances on one Physical Hardware Server?

Both run in their dedicated SAP Netweaver 7.0 System but share the same Physical Memory, Harddisk, CPU.

Thank you

regards

Nesimi

    HI Nesimi,

this is perfectly possible. MaxDB/liveCache instances are installed in seperate DEPENDEND_PATHs in which version-dependend binaries are stored.

This way you can run and maintain the installations independendly, even if the Versions differ by several releases. E.g. on my testsystem I've installed MaxDB 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, 7.6 and 7.7 in parallel. All of them work fine - also at the same time (ok it's slow then, but it works...)

This is also described in the MaxDB documentation (look for Installation details information).

    Best regards,

    Lars
