Basic IDOC types

what are these ORDERS05, DELIVERY03 & WMMBID02

i found that these are basic idoc types. what does it mean?

Hi,

It represents the structure of the IDOC.

IDOC that is transferred follows this structure.

these are IDOC TYPES which contain syntax of an idoc you can find documentation in WE60 transaction code

Idoc is an instance for idoc type

Some IDoc types are supplied by SAP in the standard system,

these are the basic types. Other IDoc types are customer

extensions. In these cases, a basic type is combined with

an extension which is created by the customer, according to

certain rules. Unlike customer extensions , these extended

basic types are upward compatible.

When u add fuctionality to it by ading extra segments it is called as Extended IDOC types.

ORDERS05 can be used to:

- receive orders from customers

-> this creates a sales order in SAP

or:

- send orders to a vendor (from a purchase order)

-> this creates a sales order in the vendors system

I haven't worked with the other two.. Sorry.
