SAPLICENSE ERROR

We are doing a mock recovery of our production system. I have builded our new system from our daily backup.

Both the oracle and SAP instance are up now and running, but my problem is I can't install any license key on it.

The message is SQL-ERROR 1017

I had the same problem but after loging in as sap* I isued the transaction code slicense then I discovered that the hardware key was wrong it had taken the production hardware key. I then re installed the license with the correct hardware key.

which SAP ABAP version you are using?

I'm using ABAP 620, running on Oracle 9i

It seems to be misterious that SAP gets connection to the DB but the saplicense tool couldn't connect. R3TRANS is also working.

try to run saplicense.exe with the full path to the dialog instance profile.

saplicense.exe pf=\usr\sap\SID\sys\profile\SID_DVEBMGS00_hostname <otherparametersofsaplicense>

does this work?

I found the root of the problem. Since this is just a test system, I did a local installation of SAP R/3 which caused problems to the OPS$ mechanism. I applied OSS Note 50088.
