BW Delta Queue...???

Former Member

Hello,

Does BW Delta Queue show all the delta enabled datasources aft Initialization & aft it has new/changed records - deltas ???

Does it show Finance extractors?

Does it show Controlling extractors?

All I thought was for FICO deltas would directly get into BW by not passing through RSA7...am I wrong?

If RSA7 shows the delta enabled extractors with changed records, how would I know the same ( if there are deltas ) for a Non Delta Enabled extractor - ( Check today n tomm in RSA 3...????)

What is the main purpose of RSA7 in real time for FICO - just monitoring the deltas..?

Let me explain you in detail

1.RSA7 is a delta queue ...you will find the queue for each delta enabled source system

2. If u execute this T-code in R/3 -- All R/3 delta enabled DS will present for which data flow is ready

3. If you execut it in BW side-- All delta source in BW side having delta capability will display

4. Delta always go through RSA7...FICO/LO/FIGL/COPA.....whatever

5. you can't see non delta DS in RSA7

6. RSA7 you can check if the data is comming properly till BW. RSA3 checks the extractor is working fine or not..

Purpose of RSA7:- Basically its an intermediate queue in betn R/3 and BW...Some DS have extraction 3 times a day but infoPackage runs only once in a day...RSA7 act as a buffer to keep that data and forward it to BW once requested....

Its also useful when your delta load fails...you can repeat the delta...which is kept as buffer in RSA7...

Please award points if helpfull.

Thanks T K.

But do we do anything in RSA 7 ?

Nothing more than seeing your delta works, and initialization is made for this particular extractor. If you pull delta into BI and you find zero record pulled but you see some records in rsa7, then you know that the problem is with our data extraction not from the source system to delta queue.

If you delta load fails, the next delta will pull the data from the delta queue instead of from the table, the whole delta management is taking place in rsa7.

Wonds,

One last clarification needed here

When will a delta enabled datasource show up in RSA7:

Is it when the datasource is initialized ?

or

Is it only when the initialized datasource will have deltas?

It would show up once there is successful initialization if there is nothing in the delta queue, it will show zero.

thanks.

You mean it will show zero under Totals tab?

RSA7 for that particular extractor will show zero for that source system.

thanks.

Sry to ask again - In RSA7 I see:

Status-Datasource-BW System-Total-Stat.

Where shud I see a zero?
