GL master contains data related to the account that is required to determine the functions of the account. E.g whether it is a Balance sheet a/c or P&L account, whether it is a reconciliation a/c, Line item managed etc.
The Field status group determined what field will be displayed, optional, suppressed or required when making posting to the particular GL account.
