HCM Processes and Forms - HR Admin Services - Dynamic Actions not supported

We are using HCM processes and forms for different HR Processes like New Hire, Org. Change, etc.

Managers/HR specialists use Adobe forms to initiate these processes and standard workflow tasks are used to update backend infotypes. However, standard background workflow tasks used to update info types don't consider dynamic actions.

E.g. if Info type 0006/ Subtype 0001 is created using SAPGUI (tcode PA30), configured dynamic action created IT 0207 record whereas if IT 0006/Sub type 0001 is created using workflow, it does not create IT 0207 record.

We understand that dynamic actions are not supported through background processes, but looking for alternate solutions for this requirement. i will appreciate any ideas from to develop an alternate solution to meet this requirement.

Thanks,

Saurabh

Did you consider using PAI user exit/badi to do the updates?

    Hello,

Change Address (US) process is a part of Standard delivery. This address your query.

Process creates infotype 6, subty 1 and later depending on the W4 indicator value, it allows you to maintain infotyped 207,208,209,210.

    Thanks for the replies.

It's good to know that Change of Address is now available as one of the standard processes.

I don't want to go down the custom path od creating user exit/BADI.

I just used 'Address change' as an example, but what i am precisely looking for is a means to trigger dynamic actions while infotypes are being updated by HCM processes and forms workflow. To be more precise, I am trying to find out if that's possible.

    Thanks,

    Saurabh

    Saujanya,

    Thanks for your response.

We already have dynamic actions created and working for those users using SAPGUI PA30/PA40 tcodes to create Master data.

As I understand, If we want to customize the same using HCM processes and forms, I will have to create extra fields on the form, and use existing backend/general services to update the backend. What if i don't have backend/generic service to update certain infotypes (E.g What if using dynamic actions Infotype Y is updated everytime Infotype X changes, and there is no backend/generic service available for updating IT Y?).

This necessarily means i have to understand all the dynamic actions functional teams have created, and customize processes and forms accordingly to support them. I see many risks in approach like what if dynamic actions change? i will then have to have a process for HCM processed and forms consultant to know that the similar change needs to happen in forms and relevant process configuration, Workflow, etc..

Do you know if there is any easy way to achieve this?

    Thanks,

    Saurabh

      Hello Saurabh,

the recommended way is to use generic service and update the infotypes accordingly.Since HCM processes and Forms framework is based on decoupled infotype.Whereas in PA 30, the business and UI logic are combined together.

But the other work around could be, may be you can customize some events for a corresponding workflow, such that some fn mod's or logic gets executed.

      Hope this helps.

    Hi Saurabh,

I actually have a question for you. What backend service are you using to do the Org Change? Did you build a custom backend service? We are trying to show OM data on some of our forms, but noticed there are no backend services for OM.

Any information you have would be of great help.

    Thanks,

    Nick
