Sapservice<SID> permissions

We had performed Local installation for our XI Systems. During

Installation, one local admin user SAPServiceXIP (XIP is SID for

system) is also created.

For File adapter, this user is writing files to the local directory.

but we need to write on a network shared folder instead of local

directory.

but since this user is a local user, it is not able to write on network

share. So we need to create the SAPServiceXIP user in domain also so

that it can write on the network shares also.

so if we create a domain account for this user , will this user will

make any conflicts with the existing user? Or do we need to change any

setting in SAP?

regards,

Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,

If you create this user as a domain user... just make sure to add him to the local administrator and to all the groups the current local user is member of then, replace the user in the services running under the current local user.

will this user will make any conflicts with the existing user?

No... they'll be no confict... users belong to different domains

Or do we need to change any setting in SAP?

Again, you need to replace the user on the services running under the local account and restart the services... make sure that the new domain user is member of the same groups as the local user.

Hope this help
