Spread Sheets like Excel can be easily loaded into SAP by using LSMW or BDC.
LSMW: Legacy System Migration WorkBench.
BDC: Batch Data Communication.
All the master data is provided by the client in form of spread sheets and the role of the consultants is to upload it using LSMW, BDC etc. If you need further info about LSMW, post your mail ID. I will send material on it.
