BODS and IPS 4.2 SP4 missing information design tool and universal design under application

Hi experts,

We have successfully installed in the IPS and BODS 4.2 SP4.all the servers are up and running under cmc. however when we are trying to connect the information design tool and universal designer its giving the error on connecting.

error : connection failed, failed to find the info object with cuid.

when i went to cmc /applications/ i was not able to find the information design tool and universal design to give access to the user. kindly let us know the work around.

Hi Ali,

IPS is a kind of MINI BOE with limited functionalities and is meant for Data services/Information steward etc. Mainly to have administration capabilities and it doesnt have Informaiton Design tool etc.

IPS will not have IDT or Universe Designer tool, since it is scaled version of BI platform designed for Data services purpose only.

Since "cmc /applications/ i was not able to find the information design tool and universal design to give access to the user", this is the indication of the BI4.2 SP04 server installation failure.

You can go to Control Panel -> Program and Features and choose MODIFY the BIP 4.2 SP04 to fix the Tomcat deployment.

Jin, IPS install will not have those applications installed. It is scaled version of BI platform for Data services and Information steward.
