Loading GL Data into SAP

Former Member

I'm working to design an export from one of our legacy systems so that we can produce a file(s) which can be loaded into the General Ledger module of SAP 4.6c. These files will contain operational and financial cash events. Is there a document which explains the format and/or process to load this data into SAP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

There is no specific documentation as such for transfer of data from Legacy to SAP. You need to extract a file from legacy system as on cut off date. This extract file for GL Balances, GL Open Iten managed accounts, Customer open items, Vendor Open Items, Asset Balances etc need to be uploaded in SAP system using LSMW / BDC.

You can get documentation on LSMW tool for upload of data.

Thanks

Murali.

Thanks for the information. I will definitely look into that. Can all types of transactions be loaded using LSMW? Is there any documentation you could point me to which explains how it works or basic information you need to include in the file in order to be able to import the transactions?

Can you also load financial contracts such as forwards, options, etc using this process so that they can be included on the Balance Sheet?
