Is it mandtory to define the key

Hi,

I have a the characterstic called country for which the data is given by my client as follows

Country

India

Japan

Germany

Now my issue that for this is it mandatory to define the Key

Key DEScription

IN India

JP Japan

DE Germany

or can we load the data without keys ,.pls let me know hwta are the disadvantages we have if we load data without key

Hello priya,

It's ofcource possible to load countries without keys like IN, JP or DE. But you have to create your own char and change all the datadargets, infources, update rules...You have to make lot's of changes...

I recommend to you to use dtandart solution. Use it with keys like IN, JP, DE...

I have created my own characterstic country which does not have any attributes also , so is there any harm in loading the text data directly instead of creating the keys

You can not do that, your texts will be your keys also and you dont need to load texts.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say without keys? Without keys how would the system know a unique value. So you would end up having multiple values of the same value.

The system defaults the main IO as the key.
