I am currently working on a project an became curious about the use of the field called Assortment Length shown within the Site Master Merchandise category few field technical SORBR. it has the following description:
Assortment length
Nondimensional measurement, defined per plant and material group, which can be determined in Planning or from sales statistics.
Use
The assortment length defines ratios for the definition of standard allocation rules in SAP Retail.
It is defined in Customizing at store/material group level, or at similar high hierarchy levels.
Example
Tab. TWLWF : Store Matgp Astmt grade Astmt length
0001 4711 A1 3.50
0002 4711 A1 1.00
0003 4711 A1 10.50
Material 0815 is to be allocated to the stores which were found via listing (0001-0003): Total quantity = 1500 pcs
Allocation ratio :
Store 0001 : Store 0002 : Store 0003
3.50 : 1.00 : 10.50 (Total: 15.00)
Allocation is as follows:
--> 350 pcs 100 pcs 1050 pcs are allocated
would some one please explain the usage of this field? I have looked within SE11 and it is not being referred to by any program or process within ERP-ECC therefore I am curious behind its purpose.
