BI Content Question

Hi all,

I have a client that has both 3.5 and 7.0 BI systems. Currently the 7.0 system is linked to a Netweaver system and the 3.5 to a 4.7 system. They now what to report 4.7 data in 7.0 (no upgrade though so the 3.5 system stays and is still used). The 4.7 system doesn't have 7.0 content. If the 7.0 content is installed in the 4.7 system how will it effect the 3.5 system? i.e. deltas, extractors and such.

Hope the question is clear enough.

Regards,

As long as the existing extractors are not affected and as long as the existing delta initializations are not affected, this will be fine. Suggest you make an analysis of the data sources before making any recommendations to your team.

    Thanks for the reply.

I know that there would be a problem if the existing extractors are effected. What I need to know is whether there is a way to identify the extractors that will be effected.

So in essense I need to know if there is a way to actually determine whether installing the new content will have a effect(especially if its bad) on existing content. Or is the new content additional extractors etc etc.
