Hi,

Not sure what are you talking about.

CI -> as far as I know this is Central Instance

Therefore, I assume that you want to know the difference between a Central Instance and a Distributed Instance.

The simple explanation -> on a central instance you have SAP and a Database. On a distributed one, the SAP instance is in one server and the Database in a different one.

Is it that You meant centralised system where you have db and central instance on one system

And distributed system where you have db on one machine and Central instance on the other

    Thanks

    Hi satish

Central CI is when u have CI and database instance combined on one machine

Distributed CI is when you have CI and database on two different machines

But I am not sure about the terminology whether they are of SAP standards

    Thanks

    Jameel

    Hi Satish,

I think you are interested in knowing the difference between Central and distributed Instances.

Central Instance: Is an SAP Instance where you find Enques and the Message Services together with other (dialog, background....) services of SAP.

Distributed Instance: Here SAP Instance, Enque service and the message service can be located in different servers.

FYI: A system with CI and DB on the same server is called Central System and not Central Instance.
