Hello
We have a requirement, when the communication message (print message) in customs declaration is failed (not processed for print), the business must get notification automatically.
Does Alert monitoring functionality can help on this.
Please help me know how does Alert Monitoring in SAP GTS General Setting...work. After it is configured how the alert message is notified to the business user.
Thanks
Sudesh
Hi Sudesh,
It might be suitable for identifying failed messages, but from what I can see, the available sub-object (/SAPSLL/ECC_OUT) cannot distinguish between electronic and print outputs.
From what I understand, the business user becomes aware of the alerts by running a work-list. But in that case, it would surely be just as convenient, and less work for you, to use the Message Cockpit (System Monitoring > Message Processing)?

Dave

Hello Dave,
Thanks for the alternative solution. The message processing report, would fulfill my requirement...
But for an extra option to have, I wanted to know in case if Alert monitoring is configured, how a particular user will get the error / warning information to his email. Does this setting work in conjunction with any other setting?
Or is it like Alert monitoring does not send automatic notifications on the status to users ?
Thanks
Sudesh
Hi Sudesh,
I'm not familiar with Alert Monitoring, but I found the SAP Help documentation when I searched the web. I'm sure you can do the same.
From a very quick read, it seems that it's necessary to run a "work-list" report to see any notifications that have occcurred since the previous run. I couldn't see any "e-mail" option, but (as I said) I didn't spend much time on this.
Regards,
Dave
