yes we can definitely use both REM and DIscrete scenarios in one plant,

you can also consider the example of AUtomobile industry where the final Car that is sold is Discrete and the spare parts and smaller components manufactured using REM

i am giving you the main points you need to keep in mind and consider when you implement both discrete and REM

BUT unfortunately we cannot use the SAME materials for both especially if it is FG materials which we produce in-house because the material masters requires different settings for REM and Discrete like the

1) Work scheduling views and MRP-4 views and production scheduling profile VS REM indicator and REM PRofile and

2) for REM we MUST maintain PRoduction versions,

3) Work centers VS Production Lines,

4) Routings VS Rate Routings,

5) Production Order and Planned OrderTYPes are different for both,

6) Production Order based production VS Planned ORder based Production

7) Production Order Confirmations VS REM BACKFLushing,

😎 PROduct Cost Collectors for REM is mandatory VS NOt required for Discrete

9) Standard Cost Estimate for REM is required

10 ) REM we calculate teh Variances

Hi raj,

let us take following example.

suppose you are PC manufacturer, the finished goods is PC, and it has two assemply parts like Hard disc and Mother board. each assemply part has some components.

you are producing PC`s using MTO that is specifically to sales order means,

1.u can use planning without final assembly strategy for finished goods.

2. u can produce assemply parts using REM MFg and u can make a stock before the receipt of sales order customer,
