Reg: Multi level BOM

Hi All

my name is kumar raja. Can any one give me the item category determination for multilevel bom. i configured for header level material like this

or erla taq

or erla taq tae

for item level material like this

or lumf tap

or lumf tap tan

i am getting errors.

pls correct my item category determination.

1. For Main item pricing go to VOV7 and select TAQ , go to structure scope and keep B(Explode Multi BOM)

2. then go to v0v4 do the settings

OR ERLA TAQ

OR NORM TAQ TAE

OR NORM TAE TAE

1st Bom is

123 - header item : item category group erla

z1-components

z2-components

2nd Bom

234- header : item cat. group - erla

y1-component

y2-component

while creating 123 in CS01 t.code just put

z1, z2 and 234 as the components. So you have now a bom item 123 which has 234 as a component which is again a BOM.

Whether its ERLA or LUMF make sure you map the item categories as per your requirement properly in VOV4( item cat. determination).

Also for the main item ie 123 in its item category control VOV7 for the field structure scope select the field value as " B ". This helps explode a multilevel BOM.

hi,

in BOM, main item pricing required - maintain ERLA as the item category group in the material master. the item category would be TAP and TAE and maintian the condition records for all the materials thru VK11.

and link that thru CS01. the usage should be 5 (it means sales and distribution).

incase u required the pricing should be applicable to ur sub item only, then maintain LUMF as item category group in the material master under Sales organisation 2 tab. the item category u will find in the sales order as TAQ and TAN.

In TAQ item category functionality in the Structure Scope field Select ' B' .

TAQ1 is copy of TAQ but only difference is in the Structure Scope field Select "A".

TAE is standard one.

If u want to price the components then

OR NORM -

TAP TAP1

OR NORM -

TAP1 TAN

In TAP functionality in structure scope field select "B".

TAP1 is copy of TAP but in Structure scope field select "A".

In that way BOM item category is determined for multilevel BOM during sale order processing.

Hi Kumar Raja,

Pl go the below notes for detailed info on BOM:

MULTI LEVEL BOM

Create BOM as Below:

main material is 101(material No)

Subitems for 101 are: 102,103, 104 & 105

102 also has 2 two sub items i.e., 106 & 107

create material masters for all the items i.e., 101 to 107 and posted stocks and maintain prices individually in VK11.

create BOM in CS01 seperately for 101 & 102

change the Item Category Group for both the main items 101 & 102 from NORM to ERLA/LUMF and create the Sales Order.

For 101 BOM will explode correctly in order but for 102 will not explode.

If you enter both the materials 101 & 102 as 2 line items then BOM will explode for both the materials.

To solve this:

check the Item category configuration for your header material for the following field:

Structure Scope: whether it is A or B...A is for explode single level & B is for explode multi-level bill of material. In your case, it should be maintained as "B"

If it is changed you can explode Multi-level BOM

Hi,

We all know, Computer is the combination of " Monitor, CPU , Keyboard, Mouse"

Here CPU consists, Harddisk,MotherBoard ,Processor, Ram etc..,

Computer is the Main item

Monitor,CPU,keyboard, Mouse are all subitems for Main item.

Subitem CPU again contains Items.

This kind of material is known as Multi BOM,

Simply, BOM with in the BOM is Multi BOM.

If you want configuration this into SAP,

First you need to create in MM01 Computer as Main Item-

(item category group- ERLA, if you want to give price on material Level).

Create in MM01, Monitor,CPU,keyboard,Mouse,Harddisk,MotherBoard,Processor,Ram

as subitems

( Item cat group- NORM,but for CPU Item cat group- ERLA)

Now Create BOM, CS01- Computer Include Monitor,CPU,keyboard,Mouse as subitems,

again create BOM,CS01- CPU include Mouse,Harddisk,MotherBoard,Processor,Ram as subitems for CPU mainitem.

In Configuration of Item Catergory VOV7 Change the Structure scope from "A - explode single level BOM" to "B - Explode Multi Level BOM" for Item Cat: TAQ & TAP.

Create Sales order for Mainitem Computer :

All the items will be displayed as sub items includeMouse,Harddisk,MotherBoard,Processor,Ram.
